However, they could not afford to throw away this production. So they decided to put it up for sale anyway. The entire production quickly sold out. In addition, customers asked for it and asked for more. They were therefore given the name Bêtises and this is how Emile Afchain has always been recognized as the inventor of the Bêtises de Cambrai… Since then, the Bêtises de Cambrai have often been imitated, but never equalled. These are the only real Bêtises in Cambrai!
